Today
Riyadh-City includes more than 165 educational institutions accommodating
over 56000 students at different levels of study. These institutions teach
educational curriculums beginning from kindergarten till the level of high
school in addition to technical and vocational education as well as two
universities that accommodate about 40000 students. The two universities set
up program for awarding higher degrees. On the other hand public
administration institute affords the opportunity for awarding higher degrees
in public administration. The number of students who study in preparatory and
training programs exceeds 7,000.
The city also
includes seven vocational and technical institutes offering vocational and
technical programs for more than 7,000 students. Riyadh-city also includes
King Abdulaziz city for science and technology which comprises science &
technology research center. This center is linked electronically with the
main scientific and technical institutes over the world.
Besides
traditional educational institutions, Riyadh-city includes a number of
military colleges that belong to the ministry of defense, interior, national
guard headquarters, such as King Abdulaziz military college and King Fahad
security college.
