Regarding the educational sector,
Riyadh-City witnessed great development in this field. The city is now
including two Main Universities, King Saud University and Al-Imam Mohammed
bin Saud Islamic University. The number of registered students in both
Universities exceeded 78,000 in the academic year (1420H-1421H). In addition
to that, the Girls Colleges, which are affiliated to the General
Administration for Girl Education includes over 16,000 students in the same
educational year.
On the other hand, the number of the
Schools at different educational levels reached more than 1,800 schools
including over 642,000 student from both genders. Furthermore, the city
contains seven vocational and technical institutes with more than 5.7 thousand
students in the academic year (1420H-1421H). According to the latest
statistics, the number of colleges in Riyadh-City reached 28 colleges against
117 colleges at the Kingdom level. The number of the graduates from both
genders until the Academic year 1420H was about 118,000.
