Ad'Diriyah Development Program
Ad’Diriyah town is overlooking Wadi Hanifa. Due to its historical importance as
the capital of the first Saudi State, and the base of Imam Mohammed bin
AbdulWahab religions call, and because it is accommodating many nationally
important heritage elements, the Royal approval has been issued on 1419H,
for the proposed program to develop Ad’Diriyah under the leadership of HRH
Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Ad’Diriyah development program,
implemented by ADA is targeting to maintain the constructional features of
the historical area and to re-employ in serving various activities. Also aimed to furnish elements of cultural,
social and economic development in this area. The objective of ADA is also
to involve the local expertise in economic and constructional development
and to encourage private sector.
ADA started at the beginning of
1406H, to conduct studies in that area, which resulted in designing a plan
to direct and organize the development of this area as well as developing
the old town. The main outcome
of these studies is resulted in defining four heritage areas that should be
maintained and prepared for suitable functions including the establishment
of a heritage village with heritage museum, Islamic Heritage Center, field
studies section and traditional presentation farm.
